Wayzata Rage concludes fantastic year at USA Cup

The U16 Girls Rage win USA Cup Gold Flight with 3-0 win in the Championship over Baerums Verk IF U16 Girls - Talented and friendly team from Norway (pictured with the Rage below).

The tryout dates for the Wayzata Flames U18 Premier girl’s team are scheduled for August 1st from 3 to 4:30 and on August 2nd from 5 to 6:30. 

In their first year as a premier team this past season, the Flames finished one point out of first place. Highlights of the extremely successful season included beating the 4 time league champion PSA 3-0 and tying them 1-1 in the other game.

 Wayzata High School senior soccer players will hold soccer practice for those underclass soccer players who would like to try out for the High School team. Seniors will take players through practices that are similar to try outs and mirror the type of activities one would expect if you make the team. August 10-14 at Oakwood Elementary fields from 9:00-10:30 am.

The U9/U10 Director is working on forming some new U9 gold teams to play in league this Fall. If you know of anybody who would be interested, please have them come to the tryout on Thursday July 16th at Elm Creek Field E at Wayzata High School from 6-7:30. There will also be a short meeting before the tryout from 5:30-6. There is no fee for the tryout.

Congratulations to the WSC U10 Boys Gold Team who finished their season with an overall 11-5-1 record.

They went 8-2-0 in league play, outscoring their opponents 27-9 and recording 5 shutouts.

In tournaments, they went 3-3-1 against other U10 Gold teams, outscoring opponents 10-9 and recording 3 shutouts.

The U15 Wayzata Warriors took 2nd place in the U16 bracket of the Burnsville Fire Cup held June 26 to the 28th. In group play, the U15 Warriors defeated teams from Dakota Rev, NSSA and tied a defensively strong Richfield team. In a hard fought final on tired legs from five full length games in 48 hours, the Warriors lost 2-1 to Minneapolis United. Congratulations to the Wayzata Warriors!

Congratulations to the U9 Boys Maroon Wayzata Trojans

They finished the season with a 18-0-1 record.

• 10-0 in league play.

• 3-0 in the Midwest Challenge U-10 tournament.

They scored 111 goals and gave up only 13 goals on the season.
